1. LANCASTER COUNTY COURTHOUSE is on the National Landmark Register. It
has been used for a hall of justice for
Lancaster County since 1828.

2. KIMBRELL BUILDING was built around
1875. Until the late 1930's a hospital
was on the second floor. The WALL OF
FAME is located here.

3. 114 SOUTH MAIN STREET was
constructed around 1888-89 and housed
the very first Bank of Lancaster office.
Col. Leroy Springs began his banking
business here. The L & C Railroad and
Leroy Springs Cotton Company were
located here.

4. NORTHWEST CORNER MAIN AND GAY was built in 1910.

5. FIRST METHODIST CHURCH was organized in 1839. It was the first church in the town of Lancaster.

6. OLD LANCASTER COUNTY JAIL was
built in 1823. The jail was designed by
Robert Mills who designed the
Washington Monument. The Lancaster
County Courthouse was also designed by
Robert Mills.

7. FORMER A.M.E. ZION CHURCH was the  first A.M.E. church in Lancaster. It was
organized in 1870 by Bishop Isom
Clinton.

8. OLD PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH AND
CEMETERY. It was built in 1862 and was
the first brick church in the county. It is
on the National Register of Historic
Places. It is owned by the Society for
Historical Preservation.

9. SPRINGS HOUSE was the birthplace of
Col. Elliott White Springs, founder of
Springs Industries. It now houses the
Lancaster County Council of the Arts and
the See Lancaster offices. It was
the Lancaster City Hall from 1957 until
2000.

10. LANCASTER CITY HALL was completed in January of 2000. It houses offices for the City of Lancaster and the City Council Meeting Room.

11. OLD UNITED STATES POST OFFICE was constructed in 1927. It was the
Lancaster Post Office until 1986. It is
now occupied by KMG America

12. MURAL AND SCULPTURE PARK was built in 1976 as a United States
Bicentennial project.

13. 200 BLOCK MAIN STREET EAST is
known as the Springs Block because of
the large structure built by Col. Leroy
Springs in 1905. The Lancaster
Mercantile Company and the Hotel Royal
were at the corner of Main and Arch
Streets.

14. 206 SOUTH MAIN STREET formerly
housed the Old Farmers Bank and Trust
Company. It was built in 1915 and is of
Greek Revival style. It has been restored
and is now a law office.

15. 207 SOUTH MAIN STREET was built in 1880. It was among the first of the Main
Street restorations in the early 1980's.

16. BANK OF LANCASTER BUILDING was constructed in 1907. It is built of red
stretcher bond brick. The second floor
was often used for plays, concerts, and
dances.

17. 203-205 SOUTH MAIN STREET was the T.M. Fitzpatrick Mercantile and was built in 1875. It was destroyed by fire in the
late 1900's.

18. MOORE BUILDING is located at the
northeast corner of Main and East Gay. It
is perhaps the oldest commercial building
in downtown, possibly built in the late
1860's or early 1870's. This block years
ago was known as the McKenna block.

19. 107 SOUTH MAIN was rebuilt in 1920 for Jackson Lodge. A variety of businesses
have been located here over the years. It
is built of yellow stretcher bond brick.

20. DAVIS PROPERTY. In Lancaster's very
early days, a cotton gin was located here.
The original building has housed a variety
of businesses.

21. NEW COUNTY OFFICE BUILDING is on the corner of Main and Dunlap Street. It
was completed in October of 2002.
