2nd Annual Sunrise Lake Youth Fishing Rodeo
In 2007, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) sponsored Lancaster County’s first youth fishing rodeo. Approximately 250 youth participated in that inaugural event, including a number of disabled and handicapped children who experienced the fun and excitement of catching fish.
As the principal advocate for and steward of our state’s natural resources, the SCDNR knows that fishing is a great way to introduce our youth to the great outdoors. Our natural resources are there for everyone to enjoy.
So, youth up to age 17 are invited to come to Sunrise Lake at 8:00 a.m. to fish for FREE. Sorry, no adult fishing at this event. Food, drinks, bait, and prizes provided at no cost.
