This
year the LCCA Arts Crawl began on a beautiful, cloudless Friday afternoon,
perfect for enjoying art, food and spirits in downtown
Lancaster. It was common to see one of the new additions to the crawl, a
horse and buggy making its rounds to the outlying businesses involved the
event. See Lancaster, a sponsor of the Crawl, provided the new addition.
The crawl began at 5:30 Friday afternoon, starting at Doster's Backstreet Studio. The Purple
Roosters new location on Gay Street was next. The trail led to Howell's Antiques, CB's, The Opera House, and
Lancaster's newest Downtown bakery and restaurant, Hannah Mariah's.
The Arts Council opened its doors as
well as Edward Scott House.
This year the Crawl involved new and additional businesses to make the
event more spectacular than ever. Added to the agenda were Olde English
Interiors, who recently moved from their downtown Main Street location to
their new location on Catawba, and Elizabeth Ann's Interiors at their new
location on Main Street. On White Street, Silver and Spice along with
Southern Nail Boutique were also on board. The Flower Shop, located near
Meeting Street also participated.
Many attended the event. Store owners were pleased with the numbers of
people attending and the sales generated.
