According to The US Bureau of Standards Spokesperson Paul North, "If verified this is one the last great directional "finds" on planet earth. This is the "Holly Grail" for cartographers." compared Contacted at their studio, the popular TV Show Myth Busters' Producer Randy McNally said, "We're on it, one of the intriguing things about this is that when we did an in-depth internet map and directional search on Kershaw, part of the directions were "at the fork in the road, veer right to US 521 Bypass". The CBS NEWS show 60 Minutes also is investigating, an unnamed associate stated, "I think Mike Wallace will come out of retirement for this one." One local resident, that asked that his name (Eddie Adams) not be used said, "I moved here about 10 years ago, I saw it and picked it up and threw it away every day for about a week, I just figured some old timer was playing a joke on me by replacing it everyday."
