See Lancaster Reports
Jan. , 2007
By: Nancy B. Howell
Included in this Lancaster News is our Winter Newsletter. Hopefully each
of you will read it and receive a good review of how See Lancaster staff
and board have been researching ways to carry out their mission and
goals. As our 2007-2008 budget begins to take form we will be projecting
exactly what we can accomplish in the way of revitalization and
promotions for Lancaster County. There are a number of grants we are
applying for and that will even further accomplish the planning that has
been taking place all of 2006.
See Lancaster, working with Beppie LeGrande of the state Main Street
program, will be finalizing the strategic plans for Heath Springs and
Kershaw in the very near future. The events that were held there last
year, such as Friday At Last and The Hog Jam will be expanded. Of
course, the Santa Express from Lancaster to Heath Springs is being
reviewed and expected to be another big hit while being offered more
times to accommodate the many requests. We are also working to find ways
to keep the L&C Railroad Museum open on a regular basis. If there
are railroad enthusiasts out there they need to contact See Lancaster
staff.
See Lancaster is looking to expand our area of concentration even more
this year with a focus on Indianland and Van Wyck. We will start a new
article this month in the Carolina Gateway to begin our connection with
that part of the county. The articles will be different and we
encourage you to check them out. We are seeking ideas to promote and
encourage events in that area also. So, if you have some thoughts on
this, again, contact the See Lancaster office.
As you the reader begin to understand See Lancaster more and have
ideas to share we would appreciate hearing from you. You may call our
office or go on our web site and send us an e-mail. Take time to study
our web site and give us your ideas
about what the public would like to see included on the site. See
Lancaster is all about Lancaster and how we can better develop sound
economic development for the small business owner while promoting all
that we have to offer to encourage visitors and tourists. We need
your input to be able to offer what the public feels is best for the
residents. So, take a moment and give us your ideas.
Contact us at the See Lancaster office, 286-1145. E-mail us at seelancaster@seelancaster.org
or just stop by our office at 201 W. Gay and say hello. We look
forward to hearing from you. Our best wishes to all of you for the
New Year.
